Fox News rips off BioShock Infinite logo for some unintentional irony

Fox News morning show Fox & Friends recently launched a new segment about immigration reform, but the intro graphic looks a bit more Columbian than American.

Yep, it’s a blatant, unmistakeable ripoff of BioShock Infinite‘s logo. I mean, just take a look. The two shields are the exact same shapes. The top one is distressed with red letters and golden trim. The bottom one has a flag motif. Just about the only thing the Fox News version changes is adding a couple extra stars.

The “homage” seems to have been first spotted by reddit user Turul9, though BioShock creator Ken Levine quickly picked up on it and sent out a pair of tweets shortly thereafter:

The irony Levine speaks of, of course, is that Infinite offers a deeply negative take on a hyper-conservative society who worships the founding fathers and demonizes minorities and immigrants. Someone at Fox News, a conservative news network, chose to yoink the logo for their own segment about keeping illegal immigrants out of America. Then again, maybe someone in the graphics department knew exactly what they were doing and just really hates their job.
