Microsoft has announced that its Xbox Live NUads have been a resounding success with a 37 percent engagement rate.
The adverts–which consist of interactive elements such as polls–were launched in August 2012. According to Microsoft, 71 percent of the engaged viewers voted in an interactive poll and 97 percent of those checked out the final results.
“When we launched NUads, we redefined the 30-second spot,” said Xbox Live Entertainment and Advertising manager Ross Honey. “These results show that NUads is a real breakthrough in TV advertising, and you can expect more investment from us when it comes to this new ad format and video advertising in general.”
I’m not too fussed by the adverts at the moment, they blend in well and don’t cause too many issues–bar a slight slowdown of the dashboard. As long as Microsoft doesn’t start plastering them everywhere then I’m perfectly fine with NUads continuing.
