THE BUZZ: Konami has revealed some details about its upcoming third person shooter, NeverDead. Japanese gamers can expect to get their hands dirty February 2. The Rebellion Developments action game will also come with a suggested retail price of 6,980 yen. The game has earned itself a Cero D rating, the Japanese equivalent of an M rating here in the US. NeverDead is being developed for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.
EGM’s TAKE: NeverDead has some intriguing gameplay concepts. An immortal protagonist that can survive the most brutal situations, who must still protect a very killable AI sidekick is a novel concept. Whether or not the game turns into the longest escort mission ever is still a concern for some, but Rebellion Developments’ lengthy track record indicates the veteren developer is wise enough to avoid obvious pitfalls.
