For Halo 4, Microsoft and 343 Industries decided to go with a more epic, cinematic feel for the game’s cutscenes—evident right away by this dramatic opening video.

While I’m not a die-hard Halo person, I’ve played all of the main games in the series—and I like the new feel and attitude that 343 Industries have brought to the franchise. Obviously, an opening cinema does little in the long run to make a game better (or worse), but it can help set the mood and your anticipation level for what’s next to come.

What do you think? Does Halo 4’s opening cinematic get you more excited to play the game?
