For gamers, Scott Langteau is known for his work on early “Medal Of Honor” and “Call Of Duty” games, and for being one of the founders of Spark Unlimited, the makers of “Turning Point: Fall Of Liberty” and “Call Of Duty: Finest Hour.”
But for gamers’ kids, he’s the guy who wrote the childrens’ books “Soft Boy” and “The Question,” the latter of which has just been released in hardcover and on Barnes & Noble’s Nook, as well as in the Real Aloud format for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, with an ebook coming to Amazon’s Kindle soon.
In “The Question,” a snowy night prompts a young boy to wonder if the precipitation will cover the whole town, eventually cutting off the electricity and food supplies. (Suddenly, the idea of a “C.O.D.” producer writing a kids book doesn’t seem so odd, does it?)
Interestingly, Langteau is not the only gaming connection to “The Question,” as the book was illustrated by Lidat Truong, who has done art for Sony Computer Entertainment America, Spark Unlinited, and Vivendi Universal.
