Call of Duty Coming to Vita

THE BUZZ: Peanut butter and jelly, cookies and milk, Call of Duty and PS Vita – what do these things have it common? Apparently, they go really well together. At least if the senior vice president of PlayStation Brand marketing Guy Longworth is to be believed. Longworth, in an interview with Gametrailers revealed that Call of Duty is currently in development for the PS Vita and should be released this fall. No further details were given but Longworth made it clear that this is a big deal for the Vita calling it an “absolute game-changer.”
EGM’s TAKE: We haven’t had too much experience with Guy Longworth but we do recognize that his name is awesome which probably means he’s an honest fellow with no agenda whatsoever. PS Vita fans do not need to be reminded that Sony’s new device is the first real gaming handheld that comes with two analog sticks which of course makes it perfect for first person shooters, therefore Call of Duty should feel right at home. We’re not yet suggesting that this is the game changer that Longworth is claiming, but with Call of Duty’s track record and Sony’s behemoth of a portable it may not be far from it.
