Check out one of Assassin's Creed Odyssey's mythological boss fights

We recently got to capture footage of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey at a pre-Gamescom 2018 event in San Francisco, and the highlight was definitely the Medusa boss fight.

That’s right: Medusa is in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, as are several other mythological creatures.

The mission I played took place on one of Odyssey‘s end-game areas: the island of Lesbos. Long story short, it involved me saving a woman’s girlfriend from a monster in the Petrified Forest. As it turns out, that monster is Medusa, who is actually the woman’s girlfriend transformed.

Ubisoft told us that there will be multiple mythological creatures in the game, and it sounds like they’ll all be people or animals that First Civilization artifacts have corrupted.

Watch the video below to see the whole fight and learn more about Odyssey‘s new Spear of Leonidas abilities. We’ll have a more comprehensive preview up soon.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey launches October 5th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Spit white-hot fanboy hate at him, trash talk his Gold II rank on Rocket League, or maybe just send him a cordial hello on Twitter @gogogoroff.
