New World Interactive has released a new update for Insurgency: Sandstorm that introduces new weapons and a new map to the game.

Today’s update introduces a remake of the classic Insurgency map Ministry, the QBZ-03 Chinese assault rifle, the VHS-2 Croatian assault rifle, two new attachments, and a new “zombie-inspired” arcade mode called Frenzy.

In addition to the update, the developer announced that Insurgency: Sandstorm will be free to play this weekend on Steam from June 20th through June 24th.

In other news, New World Interactive recently laid out its plans for the game over the next six months, including the introduction of two new maps, night versions of current maps, mod tools, new weapons, and more.

Insurgency: Sandstorm is available now on PC, and will be coming to consoles later this year.
