If you were hoping that Bowsette would ever become canon in the Super Mario universe, Nintendo is here to crush your dreams.
“Bowsette” was born after Nintendo announced New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, which will make Toadette a playable character. One of the game’s new power-ups is the Super Crown: When Toadette collects it, she turns into Peachette, basically making her a clone of Princess Peach that can double-jump and glide to safety.
Bowsette entered the picture when Twitter user @aayk92 drew a comic that basically set the internet on fire, showing a dejected Bowser putting on the Super Crown and turning into Bowsette:

However, a recent ResetEra post pointed out why an officially sanctioned Bowsette will never be. That’s because, according to Nintendo’s official description of the Super Crown, “only Toadette can use this item.” Nintendo specifically makes sure to note that Luigi definitely can’t use the item, which could be a reference to the time that Luigi dressed up as Peach in Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga.
So, unless Nintendo decides to retcon the Super Crown at some point, that pretty much dashes any hopes of ever seeing Bowsette show up in a non-modded Super Mario title, including New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. Fortunately, the game is offering both New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U in one package when it launches on January 11th for the Switch, so there is still something to celebrate.
