InXile Entertainment has announced that The Bard’s Tale IV: Director’s Cut will be available digitally on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC from August 27th. A retail release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will follow on September 6th.
The upcoming enhanced release will feature an updated game engine, a new chapter, new enemies and items, a new game intro, thousands of bug fixes, improved gamepad support, and a new Song of Exploration, which lets players bypass puzzles.

Owners of the original game on PC will automatically be upgraded to the Standard Edition of the Director’s Cut, which includes a digital code wheel, a guidebook, and the Fire Horn in-game item. While owners of the Premium, Platinum, or Ultimate Editions of the game will be atomically upgraded to the Deluxe Edition of the Director’s Cut.
InXile also confirmed that The Bard’s Tale IV: Director’s Cut will be included in Xbox One Game Pass subscriptions on Xbox One and PC at launch.
