Tom Clancy's The Division

The Division 2’s first post-launch specialization, the Gunner, is now available for all players on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC with the release of update 1.4.

The Gunner is armed with a powerful minigun, a Riot Foam grenade, and the Banshee Signature Skill, which forces enemies to leave cover by confusing them. Owners of the game’s Year 1 pass will gain instant access to the Gunner, but everyone else will have to complete the new Special Field research missions to gain access to the new specialization.

Special Field Research is made up of five stages of in-game challenges that each have their own objectives and rewards. Owners of the Year 1 Pass can still complete the Special Field Research missions, but will instead be rewarded with a number of exclusive items, including new emotes, dyes, and weapon skins.

Elsewhere, the update makes it so generic mods can no longer be applied to high-end items, reworks the talent trees of the other three specializations, improves the Reviver Hive, makes Manhunt ranks in the Dark Zone infinite, and adds a new Exotic holster.

In other news, Ubisoft recently shared details about its three post-launch episodes for The Division 2. The first, titled “D.C. Outskirts: Expeditions,” sees players head out to the outskirts of Washington DC to find President Ellis and hunt down the leader of the Outcasts. While the second episode, “Pentagon: The Last Castle,” sends players to the Pentagon to secure the nation’s secrets. Finally, players will be returning to New York in the third episode, titled “Coney Island: Homecoming.”

The Division 2 is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
